Path of Exile 2: Uncovering the Hidden Golden Idols - A Guide to Act 3's Secret Riches
Path of Exile 2 features numerous quests, some less obvious than others. Act 3 introduces a unique collectible: Golden Idols. These items, while labeled as Quest Items, don't function like typical quest items. They don't trigger a quest in your log, and unlike most quest items, they aren't traded to NPCs to advance a questline. Instead, these five valuable idols can be sold for a significant amount of gold.
Locating the Golden Idols
After completing the initial portion of Act 3 and exploring the ruins beneath the Ziggurat Encampment, a portal transports you to the past, specifically Utzaal – the Drowned City in the present. This vibrant city showcases the Vaal civilization at its zenith.
The Golden Idols are scattered throughout Utzaal and the connected area of Aggorat. They're not randomly dropped by enemies; instead, they're found on the ground or pedestals, often in secluded side rooms.

Cashing In Your Discoveries
Once you've collected a Golden Idol, return to the Ziggurat Encampment and seek out Oswald, located in the northern part of the area. He's the only vendor who will purchase these unique items.
The selling prices are as follows:
- Golden Idol: 500 Gold
- Grand Idol: 1000 Gold
- Glorious Idol: 1500 Gold
- Elegant Idol: 1000 Gold
- Exceptional Idol: 1500 Gold
Finding all five idols nets you a substantial 6000 Gold. Given their limited inventory space and sole purpose as high-value trade goods, it's advisable to sell them immediately after discovery to free up space.
