Launched in October 2024, Pokemon TCG Pocket has become a popular alternative to the Pokemon TCG Live mobile game among fans. The game introduced the Mythical Island booster pack, which added 68 new cards to the collection. Prior to this, the Genetic Apex packs had already provided players with 226 cards across three packs. With another expansion rumored to be released in January, some fans speculated that Pack Hourglasses would become irrelevant. However, The Pokemon Company has confirmed that these hourglasses will continue to be used, ensuring that players can reduce the delay between opening booster packs by one hour, no matter the expansion.

In the absence of Pack Hourglasses, players can still earn Pack Stamina by waiting through 12-hour intervals, allowing them to open two booster packs daily. Pack Hourglasses can be obtained through daily challenges and by opening the Complimentary Item Set available in the shop, which refreshes daily. Each Pack Hourglass reduces the Pack Stamina wait time by one hour, and 12 hourglasses are needed to cover the full 12-hour interval, rounded up to the nearest hour. In addition to Pack Hourglasses, Pokemon TCG Pocket offers various other currencies like Wonder Hourglasses, Special, Event, and standard Shop Tickets, Poke Gold, Pack Points, and more.
