Sony's VP of Product Management, Hiromi Wakai, announced a beta update introducing personalized 3D audio profiles, improved Remote Play controls, and adaptive controller charging.The personalized 3D audio allows users to tailor audio settings to their individual hearing using compatible devices like the Pulse Elite headset or Pulse Explore earbuds. This creates a more immersive gaming experience with enhanced spatial awareness.
The enhanced Remote Play settings provide greater control over who can access your PS5 remotely, ideal for households with multiple users. Access is managed through [Settings] > [System] > [Remote Play] > [Enable Remote Play].
For the slimmer PS5 model, adaptive controller charging optimizes power usage while the console is in rest mode. This feature is enabled via [Settings] > [System] > [Power Saving] > [Features Available in Rest Mode] > [Supply Power to USB Ports] > [Adaptive].
Beta Availability and Global Rollout
Currently, the beta is limited to invited participants in select regions (U.S., Canada, Japan, U.K., Germany, and France).
