Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Siege X: A Major Update, Not a New Game
Ubisoft recently unveiled Rainbow Six Siege X, not as a new game, but as a significant upgrade to the existing Rainbow Six Siege. This announcement, made on February 17, 2025, precedes the game's 10th anniversary. A dedicated showcase is planned for March 13, 2025, at 10:00 am PDT / 1:00 pm EDT in Atlanta, Georgia.

The March 2025 Showcase:
The showcase promises a unique experience, bringing players, creators, and developers together to unveil the extensive changes included in Siege X, along with additional surprises. In-person attendance requires a USD $10 ticket, including an exclusive shirt and in-game cosmetics. Eligibility is restricted to legal residents of the USA and Canada, aged 18 or older, with a clean Rainbow Six Siege account. Ubisoft is also offering two VIP packages (hotel, flight, and event entry) via a giveaway, limited to US and Canadian residents.

What to Expect:
Siege X boasts "new ways to play, deepened tactical gameplay, refined game feel, and major upgrades." Specific details remain under wraps until the March showcase.

Rainbow Six Siege's 10th Anniversary:
Originally released on December 1, 2015, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC (later ported to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S), Rainbow Six Siege has enjoyed a long run as a live-service title. This major update promises to extend its lifespan further.

Season 10: Operation Prep Phase:
Launching March 4, 2025, Season 10 ("Operation Prep Phase") introduces a new operator, Aurora (with deployable bulletproof doors), a new elite skin for Aruni, and a revised reputation system. Given the showcase timing, the core Siege X upgrades will likely be implemented later.
