RuneScape Drops the First Part of Havenhythe, Its Biggest Area Expansion till Date

Jagex has launched the initial segment of Havenhythe in RuneScape, marking a significant milestone for the MMORPG. This new region stands as the most substantial area expansion in the game's 25-year history, introducing fresh opportunities for exploration, skilling, and intimate storytelling.

This update represents only the first half of the expansion, with Part 2 scheduled to arrive later in 2026. Phase one initiates a brand-new questline while significantly expanding the Hunter skill into the wilderness, raising its level cap to 110. Additionally, the patch introduces two new boss encounters and debuts fish farming as an innovative skilling activity.

The Havenhythe Update Enhances Big Game Hunting in RuneScape

New challenges require players to stalk massive creatures across the region while maintaining stealth to avoid detection. Completing these hunts grants bonus Hunter XP and rare materials essential for crafting high-tier ranger armor. The update also features a clockwork trapping system, enabling players to capture multiple targets with a single trap setup.

The expansion includes two primary story quests: Visions of Havenhythe and Hearts of Sanguine. It also introduces two standalone side quests. In Wiz Kid, you follow Ben, an aspiring wizard whose parents are skeptical about his magical ambitions. Meanwhile, in Hermit Permits, you assist the crabs of Wendlewick—Havenhythe’s largest settlement—in resolving a local housing crisis.

Finally, fish farming in Havenhythe offers an alternative to traditional fishing spots. Players can stock one to four pools using starters like level 45 lobsters or level 55 swordfish. Once a pool reaches maximum capacity, it becomes ready for harvest, though the system requires active management rather than being entirely passive.
