Get your web-shooters ready, because audiences will have a limited opportunity to swing into theaters this fall. Fathom Entertainment is bringing Sam Raimi's complete Spider-Man trilogy back to the big screen for a special weekend event.
The series kicks off on September 26 with the original Spider-Man. The following day, September 27, offers a unique premiere: the extended version, newly titled Spider-Man 2.1, will be screened in 4K for the first time ever in theaters, featuring additional and extended scenes. The trilogy concludes on September 28 with Spider-Man 3.
“The 2002 release of Spider-Man was instrumental in launching the contemporary superhero film genre. Tobey Maguire's portrayal of the web-slinger continues to connect with fans of all ages,” stated Ray Nutt, Chief Executive Officer of Fathom Entertainment, in an interview with Variety.
“Here at Fathom Entertainment, we honor dedicated fans, and I am thrilled that 'Spider-Man 2.1' in 4K will make its theatrical debut. This is both a special thank you to long-time supporters and an exciting introduction for a new generation.”
For those who miss the initial weekend or wish to experience the films again, encore presentations are scheduled for the subsequent weekend, October 3 through October 5.
