Despite an exciting pre-launch crossover event featuring beloved Sega classics like Super Monkey Ball and Altered Beast, fans of Sonic Rumble will have to wait a bit longer for its global debut. The eagerly anticipated multiplayer battle royale game, which had amassed over 1.4 million pre-registrations, has been delayed by Sega. But don't worry, the wait will be worth it!
Sega is currently fine-tuning the version 1.2 update, which is set to revolutionize the toybox world of Dr. Eggman with a host of new features. These include Rumble Rankings, Crews, and character Skills, all designed to enhance the core gameplay and give players more than just a chaotic victory to strive for.
Rumble Rankings will introduce seasonal leaderboards where players can compete for rewards, while Crews will enable you and your friends to tackle score missions together. The new Skills system will equip characters with unique abilities, adding a strategic depth to the game.
Rather than rushing these updates post-launch, Sega has decided to take the time necessary to perfect them. In the meantime, mark your calendars for a Q&A session on May 2nd on Discord, where you can get insights into what's coming and ask any questions you might have.

The delay won't dampen the game's momentum. All pre-registration rewards, such as 5,000 Rings, a Crystal Chao Buddy, the Happy Sticker, the Garnet Knuckles skin, and the exclusive Movie Sonic skin for reaching the 1.4 million pre-registration milestone, are still guaranteed. So, when Sonic Rumble finally launches, you'll have a fantastic head start.
