Sonic Rumble, despite not yet launching globally, has already introduced an exciting crossover event featuring some of SEGA's most beloved characters. Dubbed Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars, this event is live from now until May 7th, just before the game's worldwide launch on May 8th.
Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is accessible in over 40 countries. It initially rolled out during pre-launch 1 in Summer 2024 in regions such as the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia. Pre-launch 2 saw the game expand to Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, and additional regions.
What's in Store?
If you're in one of the soft-launch regions, you can jump into the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. The event brings back the Altered Beast crew, with the Werewolf transformation available for free. Fans of the classic beast modes can also acquire the Werebear and Weredragon, though availability varies. The Weredragon is part of the Premium Pass, while the Werebear can be purchased with regular rings.
Adding to the excitement, Fantasy Zone's Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa join the fray. Opa-Opa is included in the Premium Pass, whereas Upa-Upa can be obtained through fragments, purchasable with standard rings at 700 rings per fragment.
Super Monkey Ball's AiAi and MeeMee have also rolled into the event. AiAi is available for 729 Red Star Rings. To get a better look at the crossover event, check out the video below:
Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover
During matches, you can collect SEGA logos to earn additional rewards. While it may seem unusual for the event to be live before the global release, SEGA has confirmed that most of these pre-release rewards will return post-launch.
This first crossover event showcases a rich tapestry of SEGA's gaming history, blending characters from various franchises with Sonic and friends. This mix of monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and transformed warriors hints at the potential and excitement that Sonic Rumble promises to deliver.
You can download Sonic Rumble from the Google Play Store now or wait for its global launch on May 8th in your region.
