Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Manager, Matthew Griffin, has confirmed that Hollow Knight: Silksong is still under active development and will eventually be released. This follows recent speculation sparked by a cake-related profile picture change by a co-creator, which proved to be a false alarm. Griffin's statement on X (formerly Twitter) provides much-needed reassurance to anxious fans.
Official Confirmation from Team Cherry
Griffin directly addressed fan concerns, definitively stating that the game is real, progressing well, and will see a release. This marks the first official update in over a year and a half, offering a significant, albeit brief, update. The initial speculation, fueled by a co-creator's profile picture change, was ultimately debunked as a misunderstanding.

A Long-Awaited Sequel
Initially announced in February 2019 with a projected release in the first half of 2023, Silksong was delayed in May 2023 due to its expanded scope and Team Cherry's commitment to quality. The game promises a new kingdom, almost 150 new enemies, and a challenging "Silk Soul" mode. While the delay has caused frustration among some fans, others remain supportive, urging the developers to prioritize quality and ignore external pressure.

The game will follow Hornet, the princess-protector from Hollow Knight, on a perilous quest to the kingdom's peak. Silksong is slated for release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. While a specific release date remains unannounced, fans eagerly await further news and updates.
