Sonic Rumble is gearing up for an exciting pre-release crossover event, bringing together iconic characters from Sega's rich history. Scheduled to launch worldwide on May 8th, the game is not wasting any time in engaging fans with a crossover that spans from May 1st to May 7th, available during its soft launch phase in select regions.
During this event, players can claim the Werewolf character from the classic game Altered Beast for free. For those looking to dive deeper into the crossover, subscribers to the Sega Star Event Pass will have the opportunity to unlock the Weredragon from Altered Beast and Opa-Opa, the beloved mascot from Fantasy Zone.
The excitement doesn't stop there. Additional characters will be available for purchase in the in-game Ring Shop, including Upa-Upa and the Werebear. Meanwhile, fans of Super Monkey Ball can look forward to acquiring AiAi and MeeMee through the Red Star Ring Shop.
Hosting such an event before the global release is certainly unconventional, but it promises to be a thrilling experience for those who can participate during the soft launch. Sega has hinted that this is just the beginning, with a packed calendar of crossovers and collaborations planned for Sonic Rumble in the future.
On a related note, keep an eye out for another exciting release from Finnish developer Supercell. Their upcoming game, a quirky monster-hunting part-timer simulator, is set to launch soon on iOS and Android. For more details, check out our Mo.co preview to see why this game deserves your attention.
