STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl presents significant choices impacting gameplay. The mission preceding "Just Like the Good Old Days" varies based on the player's decision in "Wishful Thinking." This main mission unlocks after completing either "To the Last Drop of Blood" or "Law and Order," both concluding with an escape from the SIRCAA.
Talk to Professor Lodochka at Wild Island
Proceed to the Wild Island mission marker to locate Professor Lodochka at Quite's Camp. Upon arrival, a higher-priority objective emerges: eliminating mercenaries in the area. These enemies are clearly marked, eliminating the need for searching.
Strong equipment is advisable, as further encounters await. Eliminate all marked enemies to access Lodochka. An optional objective, "Activate the Ventilation System," then becomes available.
Activate the Ventilation System
To complete this optional objective, consult your map. Locate the marked fuse, then refer to the map again to find the engineering rooms directly north. Be prepared for an invisible enemy within.
Enter the shelter, navigate the passageways to the Engine Room, and use the fuse to restore power to the Ventilation System. This facilitates mission progression. While this objective offers no unique reward, it simplifies the remainder of the mission.
Find the Signal Source
Consider acquiring superior weaponry before proceeding, as the challenge intensifies. At the marked location, find a cave entrance near the water. Navigate westward through the caverns, descending and overcoming obstacles. A broken pipe provides access to higher cave levels.
Locate the large cone-shaped spire at the marked area. The Emitter is found at the marked point beside it. An invisible enemy threatens the exit. Return to Lodochka to complete the mission, unlocking "Hornet's Nest" as the next main mission.
