Saber Interactive has reaffirmed its commitment to all previously announced projects, despite the lack of updates on high-profile titles like the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) remake. Following the recent reveal of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, Saber's Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits, took to social media to assure fans that the studio is diligently working on a diverse range of games.
"Saber Interactive stands as one of the largest independent developers globally," Willits stated. "We're actively engaged in developing numerous titles across various genres. Rest assured, every project we've announced remains in development. We're eager to share more about our upcoming games when the time is right."
The most notable project mentioned in Willits' statement is the elusive KOTOR remake. Initially announced in 2021, this much-anticipated game has undergone multiple changes in development teams, faced apparent halts, and subsequent restarts. Despite four years passing without tangible progress, Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch confirmed in April 2024 that the KOTOR project was still actively being developed, having moved with Saber during its separation from Embracer Group.
"It's evident that we're committed to this project," Karch said at the time. "The game is alive and well, and we're focused on surpassing what fans expect."
Willits' recent statement reinforces Karch's earlier comments, yet fans are still left without any new visuals or updates beyond the initial announcement trailer for the KOTOR remake.
In addition to the KOTOR project, Saber Interactive is also working on other titles set for release. John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and Jurassic Park Survival are slated for 2025, though specific release dates have not been disclosed. Furthermore, the studio is developing a new Turok game and an untitled project based on Avatar: The Last Airbender. The latest addition to their portfolio is Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3.
