The major summer gaming showcases have concluded, giving us a clear view of the most anticipated titles for the coming year. Throughout IGN's Summer of Gaming, we witnessed a host of exciting announcements, from the reveal of Resident Evil Requiem at Summer Game Fest (launching next February!) to the impressive trailer for Clockroot Revolution during the Xbox Games Showcase (with a release date to be confirmed).
With dozens of presentations over the past few weeks, there was truly something for every kind of gamer. Fans of relaxing games discovered charming new titles in the Wholesome Direct, while enthusiasts of darker universes were thrilled by the Warhammer Skulls event. Supporters of console platforms enjoyed deep dives during PlayStation's State of Play and the Xbox Games Showcase. Now that all the reveals are public, it's time for the difficult task: ranking the biggest announcements.
We've selected the season's 25 most significant games based on multiple factors—including trailer views, page visits, social media buzz, and team enthusiasm—and placed them into a tier list. Your votes will determine the ranking for each game. An S-tier rating signifies the highest level of excitement, while D-tier is reserved for titles that seem less promising, with other rankings covering everything in between.
Many of the 25 contenders have a strong chance of reaching S-tier. Resident Evil Requiem generated the most-watched trailer of the season, and our hands-on preview confirms it's a game to watch closely. Then there's Invincible VS, which appears to be both a stellar tag-team fighter and a faithful adaptation of the popular comic series. 007: First Light also made a strong first impression with its cinematic trailer—but will the Bond-inspired style be backed by compelling gameplay?
Other games are tougher to assess. After a long wait, we finally saw more of Capcom's Pragmata, but did it meet fan expectations? The announcement of a Silent Hill remake also sparked discussion; while no gameplay was shown, the project is in the hands of Bloober Team, which delivered a highly praised remake of Silent Hill 2. Meanwhile, the intriguing lighthouse simulator Keeper marks Double Fine's long-awaited comeback, though its debut trailer seemed to hold back some key details. Where will these and other titles ultimately rank? The decision is in your hands.
