Unveiled at Tokyo Game Show 2024's Xbox showcase, Threads of Time is currently slated for release on Xbox Series X/S and Steam. While a release date remains unconfirmed, PS5 and Nintendo Switch versions are also under consideration.
Already generating buzz, Threads of Time is poised to rival Sea of Stars as a spiritual successor to Square Enix's Chrono series. Riyo Games' debut title promises a captivating retro experience.
"Riyo Games aims to create retro-inspired RPGs that evoke cherished childhood memories," the studio stated. "Our journey began with a childhood pact – two friends playing RPGs, vowing to one day create epic adventures together."
Featuring vibrant 2.5D pixel art, players will guide a diverse cast of characters through various eras, from dinosaurs to robots. The overarching narrative involves a centuries-spanning conspiracy threatening the very fabric of time. Stunning anime cutscenes enhance the intricate storyline.
