Tribe Nine, from the creator of Danganronpa, set to open pre-registration

by Elijah Jan 11,2025

Tribe Nine, the mobile ARPG featuring Danganronpa creators Rui Komatsuzaki and Kazutaka Kodaka, is now accepting pre-registrations for Android and iOS! Pre-register to receive an exclusive skin and other rewards.

Komatsuzaki's art and Kodaka's design are hallmarks of the PSP visual novel and detective thriller, Danganronpa. Their collaboration continues in Tribe Nine, set in a dystopian Neo-Tokyo of 20XX. Players take on the role of teenagers competing in the deadly Extreme Games orchestrated by the enigmatic Zero. Pre-registering grants access to the Parallel Cypher / Y skin for Koishi Kohinata, among other bonuses.

The game blends thrilling action with a retro aesthetic, characteristic of Kodaka and Komatsuzaki's previous work. Explore a retro-styled overworld before engaging in full 3D battles. Experiment with equipment and utilize Tension Cards to create unique character builds.

A New Challenger Enters the Field

While Danganronpa's popularity might have waned, its originality on the PSP remains memorable. The unique art style and murder-mystery storyline set it apart from typical visual novels.

Tribe Nine's reception remains to be seen. Its distinctive visuals are a plus, but the saturated mobile 3D turn-based battle market presents stiff competition. The game will require a unique element to truly stand out.
