Ubisoft's Recent Wins and Ongoing Challenges: An Update
Following up on our "How is Ubisoft today?" series, we have some good news amidst the ongoing challenges facing the company's upper management. A significant compatibility issue has finally been resolved.
Ubisoft has successfully addressed the incompatibility between several Assassin's Creed titles and the Windows 11 24H2 update. This update, released in Fall 2024, caused games like Assassin's Creed Origins and Valhalla, among others, to malfunction on the new OS. The solution arrived via newly released patches, announced on the Steam pages for Origins and Valhalla.
Positive player feedback followed the patch releases, with gamers expressing relief and gratitude for the long-awaited fix. Importantly, the blame for the initial issue rests with Windows, not Ubisoft's development. Despite this positive response, user reviews for both games remain "Mixed."
Looking ahead, there's cautious optimism regarding Assassin's Creed Shadows. Recently delayed until March 20th, Ubisoft is prioritizing quality improvements, recognizing the game's crucial role in the company's future.
