These are some key insights we wish we'd known from the start.
Avoid Unprovoked PvP
Screenshot by The EscapistWhile Rune Slayer's full-loot PvP initially seemed daunting, it's less brutal than expected. Death doesn't result in significant item loss. However, attacking players incurs a bounty. Higher bounties lead to greater item drops upon your death. Therefore, unless you're strategically ganking with friends, avoid initiating player combat.
Craft Bags Immediately
Screenshot by The EscapistInventory and bank space are severely limited. Fortunately, you can craft bags. The Cotton Bag, providing 10 extra slots, is your priority. Source Cotton north of Wayshire and Flax south (beware of tougher mobs in the south). Craft these bags as soon as possible.
Pet Deaths are Temporary
Screenshot by The EscapistContrary to initial assumptions, pet deaths aren't permanent. A five-minute cooldown prevents summoning after a pet reaches zero health. Check this cooldown using the "T" key. After the cooldown, resummon your pet using the "T" key. Bonus: Quickly heal your pet by storing and retrieving it at the stable master (using your free slot).
Accept Every Quest
Screenshot by The EscapistRune Slayer features numerous, often forgettable, "kill X" quests. To streamline your progression, accept every quest you encounter, including those from the job board. Completing multiple quests concurrently is often more efficient, and you might be surprised by how many you accumulate.
Craft Everything (At Least Once)

Join a Guild
While Rune Slayer is solo-friendly, tougher enemies necessitate group play. Guilds are the easiest way to find groups, particularly for high-health bosses. Seek a guild through general chat or the official Rune Slayer Discord server.
