The success story at Games Workshop shows no signs of slowing down, as the iconic creator of Warhammer 40,000 has announced a substantial £20 million ($27 million) bonus for its employees. Based in Nottingham, UK, the company behind the beloved Warhammer tabletop games and their vast universes reported impressive financial results for the 52 weeks ending June 1, 2025. Core revenue surged to £560 million, marking a significant increase from £494.7 million in the prior period. Licensing revenue also soared to £50 million, up from £31 million. Core profit reached £210 million, climbing from £174.8 million, while licensing profit climbed to £45 million, up from £27 million. This resulted in a pre-tax profit of £255 million, up from £203 million.
In celebration of these remarkable achievements and to acknowledge the dedication of its workforce, Games Workshop decided to distribute £20 million in bonuses, surpassing last year's amount of £18 million. The funds will be evenly distributed among all employees, with the company estimating around 1,500 staff members. This equates to a bonus of approximately £13,333 ($18,000) per employee.
At the heart of Games Workshop's operations lies its thriving miniature business, where enthusiasts meticulously assemble and paint figures for tabletop wargames like Warhammer 40,000. However, the company is rapidly transforming into an intellectual property powerhouse, reaping significant income from popular video games such as Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and animated series like Amazon's Warhammer 40,000: Secret Rise. Additionally, Games Workshop inked a deal with Amazon for a Warhammer 40,000 Cinematic Universe featuring Henry Cavill, encompassing film and television projects. Development on Space Marine 3 is already underway.
Looking ahead, Games Workshop noted that licensing revenue reached a record high during this period but does not anticipate similar levels in 2025/26, despite remaining a key priority. Both Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer as a whole continue to grow, indicating sustained momentum. Recently, Games Workshop hosted its annual Warhammer Skulls event, unveiling exciting updates. Among the highlights were a Definitive Edition of Dawn of War and Siege mode for Space Marine 2.
