Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced
Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual installment of the event, kicking off the year's Xbox game reveals. Following the successful 2023 and 2024 editions, this showcase promises a fresh look at upcoming Xbox titles. The event is scheduled for 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT and will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch.
Confirmed Games:
The Developer Direct has already confirmed three titles:
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive (France), slated for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, this title was initially unveiled in June 2024 and showcased at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 release is currently rumored.
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game developed by Compulsion Games (Canada), the creators of Contrast and We Happy Few. Announced in June 2023, a release date is eagerly anticipated.
Beyond the Confirmed Titles:
While these three games are confirmed, previous Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and featured multiple titles. The 2024 event showcased games like Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Therefore, additional surprises are likely in store for viewers.
