ArtClash is designed to help people build a daily habit of drawing, sketching, and cartooning.
It's a work in progress with our first game live and more on the way.
Choose to draw whatever you like, or pick a topic or series of topics. Set optional constraints like a timer, color limits, or canvas size, then earn points when others guess your drawing correctly!
This is a solo project I started for my wife and me to practice daily—and to inspire others to draw more too.
Current features:
• Paint – Sketch, Paint, and Blend
• Import images to use as reference or paint over them
• Select topics and constraints, draw, and earn points for correct guesses
• Six difficulty levels for topics, ranging from single words to five-word prompts (nouns, verbs, places, time periods)
• Choose from three constraints for bonus points: time, colors, or canvas size
• Free draw anything and share it with the community
• NSFW flag to view other users' images marked as not safe for work
Known issues & early access bugs:
• Basic UI: Improving Unity's UI has been challenging, so we plan to move to XAML for better responsiveness
• On lower-end devices, keep canvas sizes under 1024x1024. The GPU-accelerated brush engine slows with large canvases and fine brushes. We're benchmarking other engines for performance improvements.
Upcoming features:
• More game modes – starting with "telephone" using drawings
• Expanded social tools: customizable avatars, comments, friend lists, and following
• Improved UI and faster brush engine
• Marquee selection and transform tools
• More brushes – support for custom and shared brush textures
• Enhanced layer system (layer locking, masking, etc.)
• Developer feedback system: request features, report bugs, and vote on future updates
• Moderator roles: let trusted users help with flagged content
• Community submissions: suggest topics and constraints for moderated use
• Future goals: full image editing, animation, scripting, and game/storyboard prototyping
With current performance limits on large textures and partial editing tools, ArtClash focuses on social competition and encouragement rather than being a full image editing suite.
