Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 5080 Gaming PC Launched at $2,399

by Noah May 25,2025

Starting today, Dell is offering an exceptional deal on the Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC, equipped with the cutting-edge GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, for just $2,399.99 shipped. This is one of the most competitive prices available for an RTX 5080-equipped prebuilt system, especially considering the upward trend in pricing since the RTX 50 series launch in January. If you're looking for another prebuilt option with the RTX 5080 at Dell, be prepared to spend over $4,000. Alternatively, finding a standalone RTX 5080 GPU for a DIY build could cost you as much as this complete system.

$2,399.99 at Alienware

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC features an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU, a GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The Intel Core Ultra 7 265F Meteor Lake CPU reaches a max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz, boasting 20 cores and a 30MB cache. It's cooled efficiently by a 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler, and the system is powered by a robust 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

The RTX 5080 is one of three new Blackwell graphics cards that have hit the market (and are notoriously hard to find). In our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE review, Jackie noted, "If you already have a high-end graphics card from the last couple of years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 might not be the upgrade you need – it doesn't offer a significant performance leap over the RTX 4080, though the enhanced frame rates from DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation do enhance the visuals in supported games. However, for gamers with older graphics cards seeking a substantial performance boost, the RTX 5080 delivers, especially if you're keen on leveraging Nvidia’s AI features."

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Dell unveiled the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis maintains a design similar to the 2024 R16 system but features updated aesthetics, enhanced cooling, and refreshed components. The I/O panel is now at the top of the case, and the tempered glass window spans the entire side panel. Air intakes are positioned at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design that typically results in a cleaner interior. The internal components have been upgraded, including a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.

RTX 5080 and 5090 GPUs Are Sold Out Everywhere

The initial release of Nvidia GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards sold out within the first hour of preorders. The RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 were the first to be released, followed by the RTX 5070 Ti in February. Prebuilt gaming PCs equipped with these new GPUs are also in short supply, often out of stock, increased in price, or facing long delivery delays.
