How to Complete All Arata Stages in GHOUL://RE
After numerous trials and errors, we've cracked the code to unlock all three Arata stages in GHOUL://RE. Although these stages don't demand high gaming skills or extensive exploration, they require significant Reputation grinding. And when we say significant, we mean it!
Arata Stage 1 in GHOUL://RE
To kick things off, you'll need to amass 25,000 Reputation points and reach the highest rank of Special Investigator within the C.C.G. organization. Head over to the Commission of Counter Ghoul (C.C.G. center) and seek out Damiro D. Mado, the NPC with headphones on the second floor. He'll task you with collecting 10 one-eyed fragments and 10 Kokuja fragments.
The quickest way to gather these fragments is by defeating bosses like Eto and Tatara, shown below, and then crafting them at a crafting table. To check your Reputation, talk to Saiyo Natsuki, the NPC in a black suit and tie. Once you've secured all 20 fragments, convert them into five one-eyed Kokuja fragments at the crafting station. If you struggle with bosses, our GHOUL://RE Boss and Raid guide will help you dominate them in no time.
Return to Damiro, who will then direct you to speak with "him". This clue puzzled many in the GHOUL://RE community, but "he" is none other than Black Reaper of Doom And Despair, hiding in plain sight. For ease, consult our guide on all NPC locations in GHOUL://RE to streamline your search.
Arata Stage 2 in GHOUL://RE
To unlock Arata stages 2 and 3, you must switch to permadeath (PD) mode to acquire the legendary armor. It's advisable to team up with reliable and strong allies, as solo missions can be frustrating.
Once you've accumulated 100,000 Reputation points, proceed to the elevator in the C.C.G. building and head to the Laboratory. Engage with Black Reaper of Doom And Despair, the man with a scalpel dressed in a black suit by the door.
Hand over five one-eyed Kokuja fragments and your 100,000 Reputation to complete Stage two and acquire the Arata-Proto armor. There's been much debate about the necessary Reputation points, with some suggesting 75,000 or between 90,000 and 100,000. However, from our experience, 100,000 Reputation points guarantee success.
Remember, you must play the second and third Arata Stages in GHOUL://RE on PD servers only. Failing to do so will result in repeated responses from the Black Reaper, preventing completion of Arata Stage 2 and access to Arata Stage 3.

The final Arata Stage also involves "The Scalpel Guy", some fragments, and a substantial amount of currency. As with the second stage, you must be in PD mode to pursue the epic armor.
Gather a single one-eyed Kakuja fragment and save up 500,000 Yen. Return to Black Reaper of Doom And Despair at the C.C.G. building. Upon payment, he will teleport you to face the Kishou Arima boss.
To defeat this boss, you'll need at least average gaming skills. Be ready for plenty of jumping, dodging, blocking, and dealing significant damage from above. Kishou Arima isn't invincible, and with practice, even average players can triumph.
Be prepared for potential deaths during this battle. Stock up on resources, as each attempt at repeating the boss fight will require an additional one-eyed Kakuja fragment and 500,000 Yen.
Upon defeating Kishou Arima, you'll unlock Stage 3 Arata-Proto armor. However, be cautious; while Arata armor provides impressive buffs and protection, it severely impacts your body, as detailed below.
Arata Armor Tips & Tricks
Arata-Proto Armor Buffs
Arata armor is undeniably powerful, yet it drains your hunger at an alarming rate while worn. You cannot eat while wearing Arata in any stage, so you'll need to remove the armor to replenish your hunger.
Despite this drawback, the armor's advantages are substantial. Primarily, you cannot be ragdolled while wearing Arata, a significant boost in all scenarios.
Arata also enhances your equipment. Your character becomes increasingly "tanky", capable of withstanding and dishing out immense damage. However, if the armor depletes your hunger during combat, it will start consuming your health bar. Be vigilant, especially in boss fights, and consider removing it if it becomes too hazardous to maintain.
Reputation Grinding
The fastest way to amass the required Reputation is by fighting bosses in PD mode. Though risky, each boss defeated in PD mode yields 1,500 Reputation, significantly more than the 500 obtained outside PD. Killing Ghouls, unfortunately, only grants 100 Reputation per kill, making them less effective for grinding during Arata quests.
