The final nominations will be revealed on March 4, 2025, with the awards ceremony taking place on April 8, 2025.
Best Game Contenders: A Top Ten List
The coveted "Best Game" award is always highly anticipated. Here are the ten titles in contention:
- ANIMAL WELL
- Astro Bot
- Balatro
- Black Myth: Wukong
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
- Helldivers 2
- The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
- Metaphor: ReFantazio

Recall that Baldur's Gate 3 took home the top prize in 2024, along with five other awards from its ten nominations.
Notable Omissions from the Best Game Category
While many titles are included in the overall longlist, some notable 2024 releases are absent from the Best Game category. This includes Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, and Silent Hill 2. According to BAFTA's rules, remasters, remakes, and DLC are ineligible for the Best Game and British Game awards, though they may compete in other categories.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Silent Hill 2 remain contenders in categories like Music, Narrative, and Technical Achievement. Interestingly, Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is not included in the BAFTA longlist, although it's expected to be considered for other year-end awards.
The complete BAFTA Games Awards longlist is available on the official BAFTA website.
