While you can sever its arms to obtain additional crafting materials, be cautious—they also serve as powerful offensive tools for the creature.
Aim for the Mouth
Ranged weapon specialists have more tactical options available. The most vulnerable point to target is its mouth, though this can be challenging to locate due to Nu Udra's nearly pitch-black exterior.
We still recommend focusing on the mouth, as it possesses a 4-star weakness rating. The head presents another viable target, though it only has a 3-star weakness to projectile damage. Nevertheless, it remains an excellent spot for both blunt and cutting damage.
Use Watermoss
As you've likely observed, Nu Udra exhibits strong fire affinity in Monster Hunter Wilds. Beyond physical strikes with its limbs, it can unleash fiery attacks. During the battle, the creature may engulf itself in flames, creating a hazardous aura that inflicts Fireblight on nearby hunters. To capture Nu Udra in Monster Hunter Wilds, come prepared with either a Pitfall Trap or Shock Trap. However, you cannot deploy these immediately. First, you must weaken the creature through sustained combat until it nears defeat. Monitor the boss icon for a skull symbol, which indicates the optimal time for trap placement.
While using bait meat can lure the monster toward your trap, simply positioning yourself behind the deployed trap while maintaining aggression also proves effective. Once captured, immediately administer Tranquilizers to sedate the creature. You have approximately five seconds before the monster breaks free from the restraint.
