From April 25th to May 5th, CrazyGames, in partnership with Photon, is set to launch its 10-day global game development marathon, the Crazy Web Multiplayer Jam 2025. This event invites indie developers worldwide to showcase their creativity by crafting innovative web-based multiplayer games. The collaboration with Photon, a leading multiplayer service provider, underscores the jam's focus on multiplayer gaming excellence.
Participants will have the chance to vie for a portion of €10,000 in cash prizes, along with premium Photon licenses, which include:
- 500 CCU with Circle Starter for a year (valued at €7,500)
- 500 CCU for a year (valued at €1,500)
- 100 CCU for a year (valued at €100)
The only requirements for the event are that the games must be developed and submitted within the jam period and meet PEGI 12 rating standards. Beyond these guidelines, developers are encouraged to unleash their creativity and push the boundaries of web-based multiplayer gaming.
Since its inception in 2014, CrazyGames has become the go-to platform for free online gaming, leveraging technologies like HTML5, JavaScript, and WebGI to deliver seamless browser-based gaming experiences across thousands of titles. During the jam, CrazyGames will offer support and the opportunity for winning games to be featured on their platform.
To kick things off, a pre-jam livestream will take place on April 24th at 4 pm CEST on YouTube and LinkedIn, providing insights into two new WebGL platforms: Fusion and Quantum. Mark Val, Head of Growth at Photon Engine, expressed enthusiasm about the platforms, stating, "Photon has supported multiplayer WebGL for over a decade, and our new Fusion and Quantum samples let you create high-performance multiplayer games easily. We believe a WebGL game will be in the top 20 of the world's most visited websites in the coming year, and the Crazy Web Multiplayer Jam 2025 is a prime opportunity for everyone to innovate on the platform."
Registration for the Crazy Web Multiplayer Jam 2025 is free and open to developers of all skill levels. To learn more and sign up, visit the official jam page.
