Where to Farm Dented Plates in NieR: Automata
Dented Plates are dropped by several types of machines:
- Small Biped (All Variants)
- Small Flyer (All Variants)
- Small Sphere (All Variants)
These machines are the backbone of enemy encounters throughout your playthrough, regardless of the chapter or route you're revisiting. However, simply running around and respawning enemies via fast travel is not the most effective method for amassing these materials. The optimal spot for farming Dented Plates is the pit where you initially confront Adam in the storyline.
To get there, fast-travel to the Desert: Housing Complex access point, proceed deeper into the ruins, and descend into the pit. Here, you'll encounter a relentless spawn of machines, primarily consisting of multiple basic Bipeds. Even if these enemies are at a lower level when you're farming, they boast a solid drop rate for Dented Plates. This location also serves as an excellent spot for farming Titanium Alloy.
If you prefer a more dynamic approach, the Forest Kingdom offers numerous groups of Bipeds that form phalanxes with spears. These groups often drop at least one Dented Plate among their numbers. Traversing the forest also increases your chances of encountering wildlife, which is perfect for collecting Beast Hide. Note that higher-level Bipeds have an increased chance of dropping Dented Plates, so advancing through the story not only pits you against more Bipeds but also higher-level ones, enhancing your drop rates.
