Destiny Child is Reborn: A New Idle RPG from Com2uS
Destiny Child, the popular mobile game initially launched in 2016, is making a triumphant return. After its September 2023 "memorial" closure, Com2uS has partnered with ShiftUp to develop a brand-new iteration of the game. This time, however, it's taking the form of an idle RPG.
A Fresh Take on a Classic:
Com2uS's subsidiary, Tiki Taka Studio (developers of Arcana Tactics), will be spearheading the development. While retaining the beloved aesthetic of the original, featuring its charming 2D characters and emotional core, the new Destiny Child will boast entirely new gameplay mechanics. This promises a fresh experience for both veteran and new players.
A Trip Down Memory Lane (For Some):
Before the relaunch, ShiftUp released a "memorial" version of Destiny Child, allowing former players to revisit the game's stunning character art. This limited-access version, requiring verification through previous account data, offered a nostalgic experience for those who played the original. While battles are unavailable, players could still admire their cherished Childs and their unique designs. This memorial version remains accessible on the Google Play Store, at least until the new game's release.
The new Destiny Child promises a captivating blend of nostalgia and innovation. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting revival! For more gaming news, check out our article on Hearthstone's "The Great Dark Beyond" and the return of the Burning Legion.
