FBC: Firebreak Release Date Announced - Remedy's Co-Op FPS in Control Universe

by Ellie May 16,2025

Remedy Entertainment has officially announced that FBC: Firebreak, a thrilling new addition to the Control universe, will launch on June 17, 2025. This session-based, multiplayer PvE game offers players a dynamic experience with replayable missions, known as Jobs, each filled with unique challenges, objectives, and environments. Teamwork and adaptability are key as players navigate through these missions, making every session a fresh adventure.

FBC: Firebreak will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, priced at $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. Excitingly, it will also be accessible on day one through PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium). This marks Remedy's first venture into self-publishing, showcasing their commitment to bringing innovative gaming experiences directly to players.

In addition to the standard edition, Remedy unveiled the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition, priced at $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. This edition includes exclusive cosmetics and premium voice packs, such as "The Firestarter" and "The Pencil Pusher" voice packs, along with the Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves), Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin, and the Golden Firebreak Spray. Owners of the base game can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for $10 / €10 / £7. The Deluxe Edition also features the Classified Requisition: "Firestarter," which offers 36 unlockable cosmetic items, including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets.

The game introduces a new system called Requisitions, which rewards players with new gear and cosmetics simply by playing. These Requisitions can include weapons, equipment, armor, sprays, and more, all unlockable using in-game currency earned through gameplay. There are no limited-time windows or rotating stores; once an item is added to the game, it remains available. For those seeking additional customization, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic items, such as armor sets, custom voice packs, sprays, and weapon skins, which can be purchased with real money. These items are purely cosmetic and have no impact on gameplay, ensuring a fair experience for all players.

Remedy has committed to ongoing support for FBC: Firebreak post-launch, with plans to introduce two new Jobs in 2025 and more updates in 2026. All new playable content, including Jobs, will be free to all players. While players can purchase cosmetics, these items will not affect gameplay, and there will be no limited-time rotations or daily log-ins, ensuring a player-friendly environment.

Amidst a busy development schedule, Remedy is also working on Control 2 and the Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remake compilation, promising an exciting future for fans of their unique storytelling and gameplay.
