"Final Destination Bloodlines Soars Past $100M in Opening Weekend"

by Logan May 21,2025

Final Destination: Bloodlines is tearing up the box office, raking in over $100 million during its opening weekend alone. With a stunningly even split of $51 million from both domestic and international markets, the film has achieved a global total of $102 million. This marks the highest opening weekend ever for any film in the Final Destination series. Given this phenomenal start, Bloodlines is well-positioned to surpass the current franchise record holder, The Final Destination, which grossed $186.1 million back in 2009.

The success of Final Destination: Bloodlines also signifies a strong revival for the franchise, which has been on hiatus since the release of Final Destination 5 in 2011, which earned $157 million globally.

IGN’s review of Final Destination: Bloodlines awarded it an 8/10, praising its blend of horror and comedy. We stated, “Final Destination: Bloodlines amps up the absurdity of Death’s design, and the resulting horror-comedy will have you dying laughing.” For those who've seen the movie, be sure to check out our detailed explanation of the Final Destination: Bloodlines ending.

PlayIn other box office news, the MCU film Thunderbolts* has now accumulated $325.7 million worldwide after three weeks in theaters. To put this in perspective, Captain America: Brave New World concluded its run with $415 million globally.

Meanwhile, Ryan Coogler’s horror film Sinners continues its strong performance, amassing $316.6 million at the global box office. And A Minecraft Movie is steadily approaching the $1 billion mark, currently standing at $928.6 million globally.
