Future Marvel Rivals Seasons Will Feature Half the Content of Season 1

Summary

  • Marvel Rivals Season 1 boasts double the content of a typical season.
  • This extended season is due to the simultaneous release of the Fantastic Four.
  • Season 1: Eternal Night Falls launches January 10th.

NetEase Games recently revealed exciting details about Marvel Rivals' upcoming Season 1, promising a massive content drop for fans. Three new maps showcasing iconic New York City locations are on the way. The Sanctum Sanctorum debuts at launch, setting the stage for the new Doom Match game mode. Midtown will host Convoy missions, immersing players in intense street battles. Details on the Central Park map remain scarce, but more information is expected closer to the mid-season update.

In a recent Dev Vision video, Creative Director Guangyun Chen confirmed Season 1 contains twice the playable content of a standard season. This expanded scope stems from the decision to introduce the Fantastic Four simultaneously. Mister Fantastic (a Duelist) and Invisible Woman (a Strategist) arrive with the Season 1 launch.

Marvel Rivals Season 1: Double the Size, Double the Fun

The Thing and Human Torch are slated to join the roster in the mid-season update, approximately six to seven weeks after launch. While NetEase Games highlighted the season's increased size, the impact on future content additions (heroes, maps, game modes) remains unclear. For now, it's reasonable to expect the two-hero-per-season pattern to continue.

While anticipation for Season 1 is high, some players expressed disappointment over the absence of Blade. Although rumors circulated about his inclusion, his arrival remains uncertain. However, with the abundance of new content and ongoing speculation, Marvel Rivals' future looks bright.
