Hades 2 Releases Warsong Update
The God Of War, Ares, Has Arrived
The roguelike dungeon crawler sequel, Hades II, has rolled out its second significant patch, The Warsong Update. This update propels protagonist Melinoë into the "Final Confrontation" beyond the Guardian of Olympus and introduces the bloodthirsty god of war, Ares. His Boons are set to inject a thrilling new dynamic into your gameplay experience.
In addition to Ares, the update boasts a new animal familiar, fresh adversaries to challenge, an enhanced Altar of Ashes with new artwork and Arcana effects, and over 2,000 new voice lines. Players can also take a break from the intense dungeon crawling to unwind in the Crossroads, enjoy new soundtracks, or even share a melodic duet with Artemis.
Planning Ahead For The Third Major Update
While The Warsong Update has just hit the scene, Supergiant Games is already laying the groundwork for the third major update, expected to be revealed "some months from now" according to their Steam news post. Hades II will remain in Early Access as the developers work towards the v1.0 launch, which they've hinted could come sooner than expected. The core structure of both the Underworld and the Surface routes is now largely complete, and the focus is shifting to enriching the existing content.
Following the release of all post-launch patches for The Warsong Update, Supergiant Games will concentrate on several key areas:
- Hidden Aspects: The Nocturnal Arms harbor undiscovered secrets that players will eventually unlock and wield.
- Enhanced Guardians: Boss battles, a cornerstone of the Hades II experience, will be refined to offer greater challenge and surprises.
- Expanded Story: Further development of Melinoë’s narrative, along with deepening inter-character relationships and subplots, is already in the works.
Supergiant Games expressed their gratitude to the community, stating, "In the meantime, thank you very much for playing Hades II! You're helping us get closer to achieving our goal of making our first-ever sequel our biggest, most replayable game yet, and a worthy successor to the original Hades that's filled with its own surprises and special touches."
The Hades II The Warsong Update is now available to download for free on Steam for all game owners.
