Ed Boon Confirms Homelander and Omni-Man Will Play Differently
In a detailed discussion with IGN, Boon addressed the concerns of fans who feared that Homelander and Omni-Man might share similar combat styles due to their similar origins. He assured that the MK1 development team is taking a creative approach to distinguish the heroes' abilities, making each character feel unique in the game. Boon stated, "Obviously, we could do anything with the characters, but I don’t think we’re going to have both Homelander and Omni-Man have heat vision or something like that."
Boon also highlighted how the team has drawn inspiration from the actions of these characters in their respective shows to craft their Fatalities. He emphasized that the main attacks would significantly differentiate Omni-Man and Homelander, addressing the assumption that they might be similar characters. "They’re definitely going to play differently. The main attacks are going to really differentiate them, but we’re definitely aware of the assumption that some people were making on, 'Oh, they’re just going to be the same characters.'"
