Infinity Nikki and its highly anticipated 1.5 update have finally hit Steam, but the release has been overshadowed by a flurry of technical issues, controversial design changes, and stringent outfit requirements. Infold Games’ stylish dress-up adventure arrived on Valve’s digital platform after months of exclusivity on the Epic Game Store. What should have been a joyous moment for fans turned into a challenging ordeal, prompting an apology from the developers and promises of compensation. However, the struggle for Infinity Nikki is far from resolved.

PC players eagerly awaiting Infinity Nikki's Steam release were met with frustration as they encountered crashes and instability that prevented the game from launching properly. Technical issues at launch are not uncommon, yet as more players joined, dissatisfaction grew beyond mere performance hiccups.
The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each comprising 11 pieces, has sparked significant discontent. Players now face the prospect of up to 220 pulls to complete these sets, a demand that exceeds previous norms and came without prior notice. Concerns are mounting that future outfit requirements might become even more demanding.
In another surprising move, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks, causing further confusion within the community. Amidst these technical and design changes, Infold's monetization strategies are demanding more from players. This prompted the Chinese player base to voice their frustrations on the social media platform RedNote, igniting a global movement. Players worldwide are now calling for a boycott of Infinity Nikki on Steam, urging others to leave negative reviews and uninstall the game across all platforms.
“Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players,” Reddit user kiaxxl emphasized in a call-to-action post. “For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days. Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players.”
The community's response has been notable, with Infinity Nikki receiving a "Mixed" rating on Steam as players share negative reviews, advising new players to steer clear until their demands are met and issues resolved.
The escalating boycott led Infold to release an apology letter across its official channels, acknowledging many of the technical issues and promising improved communication regarding future changes.
Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience
Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho— Infinity Nikki (@InfinityNikkiEN) April 29, 2025
Infold's message included commitments to revert Mira Crown to end on May 16 and start the next season on the same day, alongside compensation of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While these steps are seen as progress, they fall short of the comprehensive changes many players hoped for.
While some see Infold's concessions as a victory, others remain wary, particularly about the decision to maintain the 11-piece outfit requirement for new five-star outfits. The studio's promise of better communication is welcomed, but the prospect of future outfits retaining the 11-part structure remains a concern.
I wish you would finally chance the drop rate.. it cant be that i need 200 pulls to get a 5star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

Despite the mixed feelings, Infinity Nikki stylists are celebrating the swift response they influenced, though it's not the complete victory they sought. The community is now urged to maintain pressure for further changes.
“Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will **be** 11 pieces,” Reddit user EdensAsmr said. “Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will **not** cut it.”
