Long awaited by players across PC and consoles, crossplay is finally coming to Baldur's Gate 3 with Patch 8! While a firm release date is pending, a Patch 8 Stress Test will give select players early access to this and other new features in January 2025. This pre-release test helps Larian Studios identify and fix bugs before the wider launch.
When's Cross-Play Arriving?
The crossplay feature will debut with Patch 8, though no official release date has been announced. The January 2025 Stress Test will provide a sneak peek for participating players.
How to Join the Patch 8 Stress Test
Want early access to Baldur's Gate 3's crossplay? Sign up for the Patch 8 Stress Test! It's open to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players.
Simply complete Larian's Stress Test Registration. You'll need a Larian account; create one or log in if you already have one. The registration form is brief and requires basic player information, including your preferred platform.
Keep in mind, registration doesn't guarantee selection. Chosen players receive an email with further instructions. Selected participants can then provide feedback through dedicated forms and Discord.
This Stress Test also assesses the impact of Patch 8 on mods. Mod users and creators are encouraged to participate to ensure compatibility.
Important Note: For crossplay with friends, everyone in your group must register for the Stress Test. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for the full release sometime in 2025.
Baldur's Gate 3's enduring popularity and strong community make the addition of crossplay a highly anticipated event, promising to unite even more players in the exploration of Faerûn.
