Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset!
Initial plans for a Marvel Rivals Season 1 mid-season rank reset on February 21, 2025, were met with significant player backlash. The planned reset coincided with the release of two new heroes, The Thing and Human Torch.
Responding to player feedback, NetEase Games reversed course. The developer announced that there will be no rank reset at the mid-season point. Players will retain their existing ranks and scores.
To earn new rewards in the second half of Season 1, players only need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the season's end. These rewards include a new Gold rank costume and various Crests of Honor with unique designs for Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All ranks.
This decision demonstrates NetEase's responsiveness to player concerns and offers top-ranked players additional time to compete.

Beyond the absence of a rank reset, the mid-season update introduces The Thing and Human Torch. Specific character balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs) haven't been detailed yet.
