Mask Around: The Sequel to Mask Up Delivers More Gooey Action!
Following the 2020 release of the unique roguelike platformer, Mask Up, developer Rouli returns with its sequel, Mask Around. This time, prepare for a blend of run-and-gun and brawling action. The signature yellow ooze is back, along with some intriguing new gameplay elements.
For those unfamiliar with the original, Mask Up was a quirky 2D roguelike where players evolved from a small puddle of yellow goo into a powerful, well, gooier version of themselves. Mask Around builds upon this foundation, adding 2D shooting mechanics to the mix. Players can now seamlessly switch between gunplay and close-quarters combat using their goo powers.
However, the precious yellow ooze remains a limited resource, requiring careful management, especially during challenging boss encounters.
Strategic Goo Management
Currently available on Google Play (with no iOS release announced yet), Mask Around appears to be a significant improvement over its predecessor. While retaining the core gameplay, it expands upon it considerably. Players must now strategically utilize their goo abilities alongside their weaponry, adding a new layer of depth. The visuals also appear more polished.
Mask Around offers a refined experience with improved graphics and strategic gameplay, making it a worthwhile sequel for fans of the original and newcomers alike. After your gooey adventure, check out our latest list of top mobile games for even more exciting options!
