How To Beat Congalala in Monster Hunter Wilds
Facing the Congalala requires constant movement due to its size and agility. Avoid positioning yourself directly in front or behind the beast, as these are the primary zones for its potent breath attacks. The Congalala can also deliver powerful smashes with its hands, whip its tail, and use ranged breath attacks.
Focus your attacks on its breakable parts for maximum damage. The forelegs are the easiest target, as the Congalala often leaves them exposed after certain attacks. For the head, tail, and rear, wait for the beast to consume a mushroom, which is clearly visible, and then strike when it expels gas from its front or rear. If you avoid the gas, you can attack these vulnerable areas without fear of immediate retaliation.
If you get hit by the fumes, use deodorant or roll through water to neutralize the effects. Exploit the wounds you create by using Focus Mode and Focus Strikes to deal significant damage, effectively countering breath attacks or ground smashes.
How To Capture Congalala in Monster Hunter Wilds
Capturing the Congalala requires reducing its health until a skull icon appears on the minimap, signaling it's near defeat. Follow the beast to its resting spot where it attempts to recover. Set up either a Shock or Pitfall Trap near the sleeping monster, then switch to Tranq Bombs. Wake the Congalala and lure it into the trap, then throw 2 to 3 Tranq Bombs to successfully capture it.
