What do MiHoYo\'s new trademarks mean for their potential future game plans?

by Adam Jan 20,2025

MiHoYo has filed new trademarks for what could be entirely new game genres. The trademarks, filed in Chinese and translated as "Astaweave Haven" and "Hoshimi Haven," have sparked considerable speculation. GamerBraves, for example, suggests "Astaweave Haven" might be a management simulation.

However, it's crucial to remember that companies often secure trademarks early in development, even at the conceptual stage. This protects their intellectual property and avoids future trademark acquisition challenges. Therefore, these trademarks may simply represent very preliminary plans.

ytMiHoYo's Growing Game Portfolio

MiHoYo already boasts an impressive portfolio, including Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and the upcoming Zenless Zone Zero. Expanding their catalogue further is a possibility, especially considering the potential to diversify beyond the gacha genre.

The question remains: are these newly trademarked titles actual upcoming releases, or just early-stage concepts? Only time will tell.
