Halloween in Pokémon GO is just around the corner, and Niantic has unveiled the exciting details for Part 1 of this year's spooky celebration. Get ready for a thrilling experience with a Part 2 to follow! Here's what you need to know about the upcoming Halloween festivities.
The Halloween event kicks off on Tuesday, October 22nd, at 10:00 a.m. local time and runs through Monday, October 28th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. local time. This is your chance to dive into a world of ghostly encounters and unique features.
What’s In Store?
One of the highlights of this event is the debut of Morpeko, the Electric/Dark-type Pokémon, in Pokémon GO. Morpeko brings intriguing mechanics to the game, particularly in battles against Team GO Rocket and in the GO Battle League. Its ability to switch between Full Belly Mode and Hangry Mode during battles, depending on the Charged Attack it uses, adds a dynamic twist to gameplay. In Full Belly Mode, Morpeko can use Aura Wheel (Electric), a powerful move with 100 power that also boosts the user's Attack. Switch to Hangry Mode, and Aura Wheel transforms into a Dark-type move, maintaining its 100 power and Attack boost.
During the Halloween event, you'll have a better chance of encountering Morpeko on the premium track of the GO Battle League. Post-event, Morpeko will remain available starting at Rank 16, but you'll find it more frequently on the premium side.
