Nintendo has revealed the pricing for upgrading two more titles from the original Nintendo Switch to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition: Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Super Mario Party Jamboree. Unfortunately, these upgrades come with a hefty price tag.
While The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be upgraded for $9.99 each, NintendoLife reports that the upgrade costs for both Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Super Mario Party Jamboree are more than double that amount.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild offers improved visuals and performance, achievements, and support for the new "Zelda Notes" service within the Nintendo Switch Online app. If you own the original Switch version, you can purchase an "upgrade pack" for $10 to unlock these enhancements.
The Switch 2 Edition of Kirby and the Forgotten Land includes new story content in the Star-Crossed World. Meanwhile, Super Mario Party Jamboree's Switch 2 Edition introduces Jamboree TV, which utilizes the Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, Switch 2 microphone, and the Switch 2 USB-C camera (sold separately). This edition also features upgraded resolution up to 1440p in TV mode, improved frame rates, new minigames, and enhanced online functions.
Although U.S. prices on the American Nintendo eShop are not yet available—potentially due to uncertainties surrounding President Trump's tariffs—the UK Nintendo eShop lists the Kirby and the Forgotten Land upgrade pack at £16.99 / €19.99, significantly higher than the £7.99 / €9.99 needed to upgrade Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
The Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV upgrade carries the same price, suggesting a U.S. cost of $19.99. This higher upgrade fee may be linked to the substantial $80 price tags for both Kirby and The Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star Crossed World and Super Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV. Their original Switch versions are priced at $59.99, $20 less than their Switch 2 counterparts.
For those opting not to upgrade, here are the prices of the new editions in the U.S.:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kirby and The Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star Crossed World - $79.99
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - $69.99
- Super Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV - $79.99
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - $79.99
As a reminder, subscribers to Nintendo Switch Online and the Expansion Pack can upgrade Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom at no additional cost. However, there is no similar offer for Kirby or Party Jamboree at this time.
Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 opened today, April 24, with the console priced at $449.99. The high demand led Nintendo to warn U.S. customers pre-ordering via the My Nintendo Store that release date delivery is not guaranteed.
