Unlocking and Utilizing the Parabolic Microphone in Phasmophobia
The Parabolic Microphone is a valuable tool in Phasmophobia, aiding in ghost detection through sound. This guide details how to unlock and effectively use this optional equipment.
Unlocking the Parabolic Microphone:
The Parabolic Microphone isn't initially available. It's unlocked through progression:
- Tier 1: Unlocked at player level 7.
- Tier 2: Unlocked at level 31; upgrade cost: $3,000.
- Tier 3: Unlocked at level 72; upgrade cost: $5,000.
Upgrades are purchased in the in-game shop. Remember, prestiging resets your level, requiring you to unlock tiers again.
Using the Parabolic Microphone:
Equip the Parabolic Microphone from the truck's equipment wall before each investigation. Note that Challenge Mode may not include it in the preset loadout. Turn it on/off using the designated button. Tier 3 features a directional radar display.
The Parabolic Microphone is particularly useful on larger maps, pinpointing ghost locations via sound cues (e.g., object throws, door movements, vocalizations). It can also fulfill optional objectives requiring ghost voice recordings and help identify ghosts like the Deogen or Banshee through their unique audio signatures.
Phasmophobia is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
