Among the most eagerly awaited releases from last year, one that truly caught my attention is the upcoming Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage. The original Pirates Outlaws made a splash as a stylish, swashbuckling roguelike deckbuilder, and its sequel is set to launch in the third quarter of this year.
This sequel, playfully dubbed a "seaquel," returns you to the vibrant world of New Elysia, where you embark on another thrilling journey across the ocean waves. To start your adventure, simply choose a character, a class ability, and a starting deck, and set sail!
Pirates Outlaws 2 offers an expanded roster of characters, each with seven class options, allowing you to tailor your deck to your preferred playstyle. You can even recruit an animal companion, adding another layer of strategic depth to your battles. With enhanced turn-based combat and a new card evolution tree, you'll have an arsenal of options to conquer the seas!
Run out the guns
Pirates Outlaws 2 promises to be a significantly expanded sequel, allowing you to explore the map freely and offering a vast array of card and character combinations. For PC players, an upcoming Steam demo will be your first opportunity to get your hands on Pirates Outlaws 2!
My only concern stems from the reveal trailer's animations, which seemed somewhat static to me. While fully animating these illustrations can be challenging, I'm hopeful that the final release will feature more dynamic effects when it arrives on mobile later this year.
