Typically, Rayquaza can be encountered in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet after purchasing the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC and progressing through The Indigo Disk. The rarity of the Shiny variant made the Tera raid an exceptional opportunity for players to snag it. Even though Rayquaza's vulnerability to Fairy-type Pokemon made the raid relatively straightforward, the Shiny Rayquaza event served as a memorable conclusion to the Year of the Dragon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

According to Serebii.net, the Snakelike Pokemon Mass Outbreak event commenced on Thursday, January 9, at 7:00 PM Eastern and will wrap up on Sunday, January 12, at 6:59 PM Eastern. During this period, three Pokemon will be available for players to catch in abundance. Silicobra outbreaks will occur across all land areas in the Paldea region, while the Kitakami region will host Ekans outbreaks, and Seviper outbreaks will be found in the Terarium. These Pokemon will range from levels 10 to 65, based on the player's progress in the main story. To participate, trainers must connect to the Internet, access the Poke Portal from the in-game menu, and select Get Poke Portal News to view these Mass Outbreaks.
