Season 8: Sandlord of Torchlight: Infinite Launches This Month

by Skylar May 01,2025

Torchlight: Infinite is gearing up for an exciting new chapter with the launch of Season 8: Sandlord on April 17th. This season promises to be a significant update, introducing a host of new features and content that will transform the ARPG experience. Among the highlights is the introduction of the Cloud Oasis, a new area where players can engage in economic gameplay mechanics, managing resources and building their aerial empire.

The Sandlord mechanic is at the heart of this season, allowing players to delve into the world of economic strategy. In the Cloud Oasis, you’ll be tasked with trading resources, assigning workers, and managing production lines to create a thriving aerial stronghold. This adds a fresh layer of gameplay that goes beyond traditional monster grinding, offering a strategic challenge for players.

Returning with a new twist is Thea, who now features the Blasphemer trait. This trait swaps her divine powers for the curse of Desecration, which starts off weak but scales significantly, enhancing Erosion damage based on the depletion of her blessing power. Players can further customize this trait to trigger AoE explosions or HP-scaling effects, making it ideal for those who enjoy damage-over-time mechanics and complex build synergies.

Endgame content in Torchlight: Infinite is also receiving a major overhaul. The Deep Space area has been completely revamped, featuring five new stages, larger maps, and more challenging enemies. A new system called Probes allows players to adjust the level of risk and reward, with each Probe increasing the difficulty but also the potential for better loot, including Compass chests through the Compass Probe.

This update also introduces the Blending System for belt crafting, enabling players to fuse Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into a single item slot. This offers deeper build customization options. Additionally, a new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, has been added to the Plane Watcher and the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown, adding to the endgame challenges.

To celebrate the launch of Season 8, Torchlight: Infinite is hosting the Sands of Fortune anniversary event from April 17th to May 1st. Players can participate in tasks, earn Gold Rush Attempts, and have a chance to win from a $250,000 prize pool.
