New Shining Revelry Expansion Coming to Pokemon TCG Pocket Later This Month

by Daniel Apr 21,2025

My interest in Pokémon TCG Pocket tends to ebb and flow. I dive deep into the game whenever a new set drops and stay engaged as long as there are Emblems to earn for achieving around 40 wins. After that, my routine shifts to logging in daily, opening packs, enjoying a quick Wonder Pick, and then moving on until the next day. This cycle is set to repeat with the launch of the upcoming expansion, Shining Revelry, scheduled for March 27th.

Shining Revelry will bring 110 new cards into the world of TCG Pocket, featuring an assortment of new Ex Pokémon, Trainer cards, and the stunning art cards that fans adore. The highlight of this set, as hinted by its name, is the introduction of Shiny Pokémon. These are unique, differently colored versions of beloved Pokémon; think of Lucario in yellow instead of blue, or Pachirisu with a striking pink stripe.

The trailer, available below, teases what's in store for us. A standout is the new Shiny Charizard Ex, boasting 180 HP and an attack named Steam Artillery that packs a punch with 150 damage but requires a hefty five energy. However, its other move, Stoke, offers a handy way to ramp up by adding three Fire Energy at once.

Lucario also returns as an Ex, stepping up from its supporting role in the Space-Time Smackdown expansion to take a more aggressive stance on the battlefield. With 150 HP and the ability to deal 100 damage with Aura Sphere for three Fighting Energy, it can also hit an opponent's Benched Pokémon for 30 damage, adding a strategic edge to your gameplay.

The trailer also showcases other cards that might not be game-changers but are delightful additions. Shiny Wiglett, Pachirisu, and Varoom are making their way into the game with eye-catching designs. Additionally, there's a gorgeous Tatsugiri art rare that I'm eager to add to my digital collection.

Pokémon TCG Pocket is available on both the App Store and Google Play, offering a free-to-play experience with optional in-app purchases. If you're interested, you can download it for your preferred platform using the buttons below.
