Fans eager to dive into the first episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld will need to venture into Fortnite to catch the series before it hits Disney+. Epic Games unveiled an exciting expansion of its Star Wars offerings today, announcing that the first two episodes of the upcoming animated spinoff will premiere exclusively within Fortnite. This move is part of Epic's strategy to enrich its upcoming Galactic Battle season with a plethora of Star Wars-themed content.
You can witness the debut of Tales of the Underworld with two episodes featuring Asajj Ventress on the Star Wars Watch Party island starting at 10 a.m. ET on May 2—two days ahead of its Disney+ release. Epic encourages fans to link their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts, promising a First Order Stormtrooper outfit as a reward. While the specifics of additional benefits remain under wraps, Epic hints at more advantages on the horizon.
“Disney and Epic are pioneering the future of social entertainment together, and this expansive Star Wars collaboration offers a glimpse into the type of interactive experiences we envision,” said Epic Games President Adam Sussman. “We are reimagining what’s possible with immersive storytelling in Fortnite with one of the world’s most beloved franchises - stay tuned for a lot more to come.”
You have until May 11 to watch both episodes of Tales of the Underworld on the Star Wars Watch Party island before it goes offline. Additionally, the island will host a Battle Arena where players can engage in lightsaber combat against waves of enemies. Those who watch both episodes will be rewarded with an Asajj Ventress loading screen.

Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld is a six-episode series animated in the style of The Clone Wars, following the adventures of Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. The official description hints at Ventress encountering a new chance at life and a new ally, while Bane faces his past.
Disney's partnership with Fortnite extends well beyond the upcoming Galactic Battle season. In March 2024, Disney acquired a $1.5 billion stake in Epic, setting the stage for long-term collaboration. This alliance will not only bring more Star Wars content but also introduce Marvel and Pixar outfits into the game. Anticipated highlights for the next season include Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine.
Since its launch in 2017, Fortnite has continued to dominate the gaming space. Recent collaborations, such as the Sabrina Carpenter crossover, have kept its community engaged, inviting players to put down their pickaxes and put on their dancing shoes.
