Stellar Mercenaries has just released an exciting new upgrade with the Jupiter Expansion, nearly doubling the game's content with more worlds, enemies, and missions. If you're new to the game, Stellar Mercenaries is an enthralling vertical-scrolling action arcade space shooter where you embark on procedurally generated missions, customize your ships and weapons, and strive to become the most feared mercenary in the solar system.
What's New in the Jupiter Expansion of Stellar Mercenaries?
The Jupiter Expansion transforms Jupiter and its moons into dynamic battlegrounds. Each moon presents unique challenges: Ganymede, a barren wasteland; Io, covered in volcanic debris; and Europa, a frozen and treacherous landscape. Meanwhile, Jupiter itself is teeming with fierce storms, adding another layer of intensity to your missions.
Two new factions are introduced in this expansion. The Jovian Empire, a formidable military force aiming to dominate the region, and the Pirate Council, a chaotic alliance of outlaws, both add fresh dynamics to the gameplay.
With 50 new missions, players can engage in various objectives such as hyperspace hunting to track down elusive targets, piracy missions, escort missions, and train defense missions, ensuring endless variety and excitement.
The update also introduces six new ships: Raider, Goblin, Mako, Boxer, Lightning, and Skybreaker. Additionally, the arsenal expands with new weapons like the Hyper Velocity Mortar, Plasma Seeker, EMP Rockets, Mauler Cannon, Electron Beam, and Neutron Beam.
New Hazards, Shields, and More
The Jupiter Expansion also introduces Tier 4 shields and armor, enhancing your defensive capabilities. New hazards include asteroid fields, elite enemy squadrons, and the formidable Pacifier. Some enemy mercenaries have evolved into more challenging classes, including the Nightmare, Riot, and Warhawk.
To complement the expanded gameplay, 14 new music tracks have been added, along with a new side missions system, providing even more depth to the Stellar Mercenaries experience.
