Tuxedo Labs has exciting news for fans of their beloved sandbox game, Teardown. The developers have announced the introduction of a multiplayer mode, fulfilling a long-standing goal and a highly requested feature by the community. This new mode will debut on Steam’s Experimental Branch, allowing players to test and provide feedback on the feature. Tuxedo Labs is particularly keen on input from the modding community, as updates to the game's API will enable modders to adapt their creations for multiplayer use.
Alongside the multiplayer mode, Tuxedo Labs unveiled the Folkrace DLC, which will enrich the single-player experience with new maps, vehicles, and racing challenges. Players will have the opportunity to compete in various events, earn rewards, and customize their vehicles to dominate the tracks. This expansion promises to add depth and excitement to the already engaging gameplay of Teardown.
The multiplayer update will initially be available through an "Experimental" branch on Steam, providing early access for players to try out the new mode. At the same time, the team will release API updates to modders, ensuring that existing mods can be seamlessly integrated into multiplayer environments. Once the testing phase is complete, multiplayer will become a core feature of Teardown, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
Looking forward, Tuxedo Labs has teased that two more major DLCs are currently in development, with more details to be revealed later in 2025. This roadmap indicates a commitment to expanding and improving Teardown, keeping the community engaged and excited for what's to come.
