Tencent's Polaris Quest Unveils Ambitious Open-World RPG "Light of Motiram" for Mobile and More
It's a busy day for game announcements! Following the Project Mugen title reveal, we now have news of another major release: Light of Motiram, an open-world RPG from Tencent's Polaris Quest, is heading to mobile devices.
According to announcements on Chinese social media (via Gematsu), Light of Motiram will launch on Epic Games Store, Steam, PlayStation 5, and apparently, mobile platforms as well. Given its impressive visuals and extensive feature set, a mobile release would be a significant undertaking.
What exactly is Light of Motiram? It's a genre-bending experience. It's an open-world RPG, reminiscent of Genshin Impact, but also incorporates base-building (think Rust), customizable giant mechanical creatures (evoking Horizon Zero Dawn), and even creature collection elements (perhaps a nod to Palworld?). The sheer breadth of features is both surprising and intriguing.
This "kitchen sink" approach might be a clever way to deflect accusations of copying other titles. While ambitious, the simultaneous release across multiple platforms, especially with such high visual fidelity, raises questions about feasibility.
Currently, a mobile beta seems to be in development. We'll need to wait for further details to see how Tencent and Polaris Quest manage to fit this expansive game onto mobile devices. Until then, why not explore some of the top new mobile games released this week?
