The Capcom Pro Tour has taken a brief pause, and with all 48 participants set for Capcom Cup 11, it's time to shift our focus from the world's top players to the characters they're wielding in Street Fighter 6. Following the conclusion of the World Warrior circuit, EventHubs released insightful statistics on the most popular characters at the elite level, offering a clear picture of the game's current balance. Notably, all 24 fighters are in play, yet in a surprising twist, only one player out of nearly two hundred (encompassing eight finalists from 24 regions) chose Ryu. Even the newly introduced Terry Bogard found favor with two competitors.
Currently, the most favored characters on the professional circuit are Cammy, Ken, and M. Bison, each selected by 17 players. There's a significant gap before we reach the next group, which includes Akuma (12 players), Ed and Luke (both 11 players), and JP and Chun-Li (both with 10 players). Among the less popular choices, Zangief, Guile, and Juri stand out, each being the main pick for seven players.
As we look forward to Capcom Cup 11, set to take place this March in Tokyo, the excitement builds. The tournament's winner will take home a staggering prize of one million dollars, making it a highly anticipated event in the fighting game community.
